Frequently asked questions
Why do I need to register and log in before booking on CamperPass?
On CamperPass, users need to register and log in before sending a booking request. This is standard practice on most major booking platforms, for these reasons:
1. Identity and communication
- Booking without registration would be like a mailbox with no way of knowing who uses it.
- Who would receive the booking confirmations, invoices or cancellation notices?
- Without an account, you couldn’t view your booking details or contact the owner.
2. Access to your booking information
- If you forget your dates, price or other details, your account is where you check them.
- Motorhome owners also need a reliable way to track and manage their bookings.
3. Sharing the owner’s contact details securely
- The owner’s contact details are shared only after a confirmed booking, and only with the person who made it.
- Without an account, there is no secure way to pass on this information.
4. Fraud prevention and payment tracking
- How else would the system verify who is making the payment?
- Without registration, the risk of fraud and payment disputes goes up.
5. What travellers expect
- Serious travellers don’t abandon a booking just because they need to create an account.
- Guests want secure access to their bookings, payments and messages.
Can I have both an owner and a renter account?
Yes. You can use the platform both as a renter and as an owner. These are two separate roles on the same platform.
Do I need to register to browse listings?
No. You can browse listings without registering.
Without an account, you can only send a message (enquiry) to the owner. You won’t be able to make a booking.
To book a motorhome or list your own, you’ll need to create an account.
How do I create an account?
Click “Sign Up” at the top of the site and fill in the form with your real details.
You can register as a renter, as an owner, or in both roles.
Only adults (18 or older) can register.
How does the platform work?
Owners register, list their motorhome and set the price and terms.
Renters search for motorhomes by dates and location, send a booking request and pay through the platform.
The owner is paid after the renter’s successful check-in.
What if I forgot my password?
On the login page, click “Forgot password?” and follow the instructions.
A password reset link will be sent to your email.
What is CamperPass and why use it?
CamperPass is a modern motorhome and caravan rental platform for both travellers and owners. It makes renting different types of motorhomes across Lithuania and Europe convenient, safe and transparent. It brings together people who want to rent a vehicle for their trip and owners who want to earn from their motorhome without spending time finding customers or handling admin.
Why use CamperPass?
Safety and reliability: All users are verified and payments are made securely through the platform. The motorhome’s condition is recorded for every rental, with a clear rental agreement.
Simple and convenient: Quick sign-up and listing, automatic handling of invoices and payments, and easy management of your calendar and prices.
Useful features: Add-on extras (e.g. kitchen equipment, bike racks), instant booking, featured listings for more visibility and bookings, and membership plans for advanced users.
Wide reach: The platform reaches active travellers from Lithuania and abroad, and takes care of advertising, finding customers and visibility for the owner.
Earning potential: The owner sets the price and the booking and rental terms, and a motorhome that would otherwise sit idle earns extra income.
Smart management: Choose the features you need, from blocking dates for your own use to automatic recurring payments.
In short: CamperPass is built to make renting as easy as possible, with safety, flexibility and extra income for owners, and a wide choice and simple booking for travellers.
Can I travel abroad?
Only with the owner’s prior written permission.
The owner may specify countries or regions where travel is not allowed.
You are responsible for customs, road tolls and insurance formalities during the trip.
How do I cancel a booking?
You can cancel a booking only through the platform. Log in to your account and find the booking under “My Bookings”.
How much you get back depends on the cancellation policy the owner has chosen: Standard, Flexible or Strict. Owners choose a policy for each motorhome separately, so check the terms in the listing before you book.
You’ll find the exact tiers and percentages in the answer “How much does it cost to cancel a booking on CamperPass?”.
Good to know:
- The refund is calculated from the amount you have already paid: from the deposit if you’ve paid only the deposit, or from the full rental amount if you’ve paid everything.
- The security deposit is refunded in full if the rental didn’t take place.
- The CamperPass service fee is non-refundable.
- The money is paid back no later than 14 days after the date the agreement is terminated, by bank transfer to the account you provide.
How do I check if a vehicle is available?
To check whether a motorhome or caravan is available, simply choose your travel dates in the search box. All vehicles shown in the search results should be available for the dates you selected.
You can also check availability directly on the vehicle’s page:
- On a mobile phone, tap “Check availability” at the bottom of the screen to open the calendar.
- On a computer or tablet, click “Select date” on the right. Available dates are shown in white in the calendar.
Once you’ve found the right vehicle, you can book it straight away. The owner must respond to a request within 24 hours.
How do I search for a motorhome?
On the home page, enter your dates and the number of travellers, then click “Search”.
You’ll get a list of available motorhomes with prices and details.
How does payment work?
Deposit: 20%
The deposit is 20% of the rental amount and is calculated once you choose a motorhome and dates. It is only charged when you enter your payment details and actually make the payment.
- Instant booking: you go straight to payment.
- Booking request: the owner first needs to approve it and send you an invoice. Only then can you pay.
You need to be registered to make a booking. Without registering, you can only send the owner a message (enquiry). No booking is made.
Remaining 80%
The balance must be paid no later than 14 days before the rental starts. If you book less than 14 days before the start, the full amount is paid at once.
You pay the balance yourself by logging in to your account. The system does not charge it automatically.
If the balance isn’t paid on time, the booking is cancelled, the deposit is not refunded, and the motorhome may be rented to someone else.
Security deposit
The security deposit is set by the owner. It is part of the order and shown as a separate line on the invoice, but it is not included in the 20% deposit. The 20% deposit is calculated from the rental amount only.
Payment methods
Bank transfer, payment card, Apple Pay, Google Pay.
How does picking up the motorhome (check-in) work?
Agree on the exact handover place and time with the owner.
Inspect the motorhome together, record any existing damage (with photos or video) and sign the handover form.
Check the mileage, fuel level and equipment.
How does returning the motorhome (check-out) work?
Return the motorhome at the agreed time and place.
Check its condition together with the owner. If any new damage is found, appropriate compensation will apply.
The motorhome must be clean and have the same amount of fuel as when you picked it up (unless agreed otherwise).
How much does it cost to cancel a booking on CamperPass?
Each owner chooses one of three cancellation policies for each of their motorhomes separately. You can see which one applies in the motorhome’s listing and in your booking details.
How much is refunded if you cancel
The table shows what percentage of the amount you paid is refunded:
Policy When you cancel Refunded Standard more than 30 days before the rental starts 100% 30–14 days before 25% less than 14 days before 0% Flexible more than 14 days before the rental starts 100% 14–7 days before 25% less than 7 days before 0% Strict 60 days or more before the rental starts 100% 60–30 days before 25% less than 30 days before 0% What the refund is calculated from
- If you’ve paid only the deposit (20%), the percentage is calculated from the deposit.
- If you’ve paid the full amount, the percentage is calculated from the full rental amount, excluding the security deposit.
Security deposit
The security deposit is refunded in full if the rental didn’t take place, i.e. the booking was cancelled before the rental period started.
CamperPass service fee
The service fee is non-refundable when a booking is cancelled.
When and how you get your money back
The money is paid back no later than 14 days after the date the agreement is terminated, by bank transfer to the account you provide.
If you’re unsure about the cancellation terms of your booking, you can always check your booking details on CamperPass or contact our Help Centre.
What documents do I need?
Have a valid driving licence and an identity document (passport or ID card) ready.
The owner may ask for other documents as well.
What driving licence do I need?
General requirements
- You must hold a valid driving licence that is recognised in every country you plan to drive in during the rental.
- Your licence must cover the category of the vehicle you’re renting (for example, a standard category B licence may not be enough for larger motorhomes).
Driving experience: set by the owner
Legally, you can drive a motorhome with a licence of the right category (usually B). The law does not require any extra driving experience.
However, each owner sets their own minimum driving experience and age when listing a motorhome. For example:
- one owner rents to drivers with at least 3 years of experience (roughly from age 21);
- another rents only to drivers aged 25 or over.
So always check the specific listing. It shows that owner’s requirements for drivers.
International Driving Permit
- If your licence is from outside the European Union (e.g. Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the USA), you need an International Driving Permit (IDP) together with your national licence.
- CamperPass may update and adjust this list in line with applicable law.
Driving larger motorhomes
- Most motorhomes up to 3,500 kg can be driven with a standard category B licence.
- If the vehicle weighs more than 3,500 kg, you may need a category C1 licence (depending on the law in the countries you travel through).
Rules for renting caravans (trailers)
- Whether you can tow a caravan depends on your licence category and the weight of the towing vehicle.
- The key factor is the combined weight of the car and the caravan. It determines whether a category B licence is enough.
Trailer licence rules (e.g. in Sweden, Norway and Finland)
- Category B: you may tow a trailer up to 750 kg gross weight. If the trailer is heavier, the combined weight of car and trailer must not exceed 3.5 tonnes.
- Extended category B (B96): allows a combined car and trailer weight of up to 4.25 tonnes.
- Category BE: allows a car or light truck up to 3.5 tonnes towing a trailer up to 3.5 tonnes.
What if the motorhome breaks down on the road?
Inform the owner immediately.
If you need roadside help, go to the nearest garage, but carry out any repairs only with the owner’s consent.
If there’s a traffic accident, call the police and have a report drawn up at the scene.
What if the owner cancels my booking?
You’ll get back 100% of the amount you paid, including the security deposit.
Contact us at help@camperpass.lt and we’ll help you find an alternative.
What if the owner hasn’t approved my booking request within 24 hours?
If your booking request expired without a reply from the owner, here’s what you can do:
Contact the owner
- Send the owner a message through CamperPass and ask whether they still want to rent out the vehicle. Owners sometimes miss a notification or need more time to reply.
- If you want to book the same vehicle again, you’ll need to contact the owner and ask them to unblock the dates in their calendar.
Please note: when a booking request expires, the dates are automatically blocked in the calendar, so you can’t immediately book the same vehicle again.
Look for other vehicles
- You can search for similar motorhomes or caravans and send a request to another owner. Use the “Instant booking” filter to find vehicles that don’t need the owner’s approval. Your booking will be confirmed straight away.
Ask for help
- If you need more help, contact the CamperPass support team at help@camperpass.lt. We’ll gladly check the status of the owner’s reply.
What is a security deposit and how does it work?
A security deposit is an amount the owner may set as a guarantee for the rental period. The owner decides how much it is.
The security deposit is part of the order and is shown as a separate line on the invoice, but it is not included in the 20% booking deposit. The booking deposit is calculated from the rental amount only.
The security deposit is returned after the motorhome is returned and everything is confirmed to be in order. If there is damage, the repair costs are covered from the security deposit.
What payment methods are accepted?
You can pay on the platform with:
- Bank transfer
- Payment card
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
All payments are made through the platform over an encrypted connection.
What’s the difference between instant booking and a booking request?
Instant booking: you can book the motorhome straight away, without waiting for the owner’s approval.
Booking request: your request is sent to the owner, who approves or declines it. The booking only takes effect once the owner approves it.
Can I list my motorhome on CamperPass?
At the moment, only owners based in Lithuania can list their motorhomes for rent on CamperPass.
Stay tuned! We’re working on opening the platform to owners from other countries very soon.

For longer delays, the debt may be passed to a debt collection agency and your access to the platform may be restricted.
Can there be additional charges?
Yes. Charges may apply for:
- late return of the motorhome
- missing fuel
- extra cleaning
- traffic fines
- breaches of the agreement
All possible additional charges must be stated in the listing in advance.
How long does a refund take after I cancel a booking?
The money is paid back no later than 14 days after the date the agreement is terminated.
The refund is made by bank transfer to the account you provide.
The exact amount refunded depends on the owner’s cancellation policy. See “How much does it cost to cancel a booking on CamperPass?”.
Please note:
- The CamperPass service fee is non-refundable.
- The security deposit is refunded in full if the rental didn’t take place (cancelled before the rental period started).
What is the platform fee?
CamperPass charges a service fee, which is added automatically to the price set by the owner.
You’ll see the exact fee when you confirm your booking.
Is it safe to pay through the platform?
Yes. All payments are made through the platform over a secure, encrypted connection, in line with payment security standards.
You can pay by bank transfer, payment card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
CamperPass will never ask you to pay outside the platform.
What if the motorhome isn’t at the agreed location?
Contact the owner immediately.
If they don’t respond, call us on +370 686 30222.
In this case, you’ll be entitled to a full refund.
How does the review system work?
After each rental, both sides can leave each other a review.
Reviews must be objective and fair. False or offensive reviews are not allowed.
CamperPass reserves the right to remove inappropriate reviews.
How do I make a complaint?
Email us at help@camperpass.lt or call +370 686 30222.
Describe the situation and attach all relevant documents or photos.
How does the platform handle security deposit disputes?
If both sides provide documents and can’t reach an agreement, CamperPass may split the security deposit 50/50 or otherwise, depending on the circumstances.
For a different outcome, the dispute must be resolved directly with the other side, through the courts.
What if I have a dispute with the other side?
First, try to reach an agreement directly with the other side.
If that doesn’t work, contact us at help@camperpass.lt.
CamperPass will mediate, but it is not a party to the rental agreement, and the final outcome depends on what the two sides agree.

It is prohibited to:
- register with false information
- hand the motorhome over to unauthorised persons
- use the motorhome for racing or off-road driving

This is done for safety reasons.
